Salon Ecuador
Co-hosted with my partner Trinidad Ordonez, an anthropologist based in Ecuador, we invited a group of artists and cultural travelers from the US to join us on an exploration of the indigenous culture of the Andean communities.

Due to the demise of the traditional social structure of farming communities in addition to the mass migration of the rural population to urban centers, the local culture is undergoing radical change and unless documented and understood now, a way of life and an identity of a people may soon cease to exist.

Using our documentation of experiences, dialogue, cross-pollination of deas and observations we hope to ultimately develop content that can serve as a foundation and building block to the realization of an educational arts program. The resulting curriculum will cultivate cultural/societal understanding and dialogue through multi-media installations that can engage diverse audiences through visual storytelling and inquiry.
